Chequerboard Sentinel

Chequerboard Sentinel is a silkscreen print that takes full advantage of the bold, saturated colour achievable through this technique, where ink is applied in rich, opaque layers. This particular work enhances visual depth by blending two colours—blue and brass—in a single sweep of the squeegee, creating a dynamic interplay within the pattern.

Each print is unique, and only a limited number have survived since their creation in the 1970s. Most remain in good to excellent condition within the printed area, though minor edge wear is present on some due to age. The prints were produced on Burnie cartridge, a robust drawing paper manufactured in Tasmania during that period.
