Framed by Time is a limited edition A4 fine art print, drawn from a quiet yet compelling photograph taken by the artist, gazing across Blackwattle Bay in Sydney, Australia. In this composition, the sinews of engineered steel and the enduring shapes of the natural world hold equal sway—each framing the other in a kind of visual negotiation.

The bay, like so many along Sydney’s intricate harbour, is a flooded remnant of an ancient river system that once carved deep grooves into sandstone over millennia. This land, lived on and shaped by First Nations people for over 60,000 years, holds a quiet tension beneath its present surfaces—history etched into stone and water. Here, even with modern bridges threading through the skyline, it is nature that still asserts its frame.

Over the photographic base, the artist has worked with digital sketching—adding meandering lines and tonal shifts that engage with the suspension bridge like a visual dialogue, whimsical and slightly irreverent. These gestures sit somewhere between abstract expressionism and surrealism, inviting the viewer to question the boundaries between structure and space, past and present, human-made and elemental.
