Limited Edition Fine Art Print – Corner Entry (After Sullivan)
This striking composition begins with a photograph captured by the artist—an image of a building entrance designed by the legendary Louis Sullivan, the Chicago architect whose work bridged the 19th and 20th centuries. The structure still stands, its ornate ground-level entryway anchoring the corner with an almost ceremonial presence, while the upper façade ascends in elegant restraint and clarity.
Overlaid upon this architectural base are meandering “thought lines”—gestural marks that ripple across the image like waves of internal dialogue. These lines evoke the quiet yet complex collision of impressions that occurs when encountering such a space: a threshold, a corner, a moment of architectural pause. The print gently interrogates the sharp-edged rationalism of contemporary building design, contrasting it with the fluid, ornamental geometries of Sullivan’s vision—forms born not only from structure but from the human hand, eye, and spirit.
Hovering between abstract expressionism and surrealism, the piece invites the viewer to see architecture not simply as object or utility, but as a site of layered perception. The line becomes a way of thinking, tracing the viewer’s own wandering interpretation.
Produced in a strictly limited edition of thirty, each print is individually signed and numbered by the artist. Printed with care on premium cotton rag paper using archival pigment inks, the work is created in the intimate, direct tradition of centuries-old printmaking practice—each piece emerging from the artist’s own small studio printer.
